Parent Coaching

WHO KNEW PARENTING WOULD BE SO HARD?

Let's face it, parenting was already hard when our children began to test their independence, and our patience, by triggering old parts of us that we buried long ago.

That was nothing compared to what we are facing now as parents.  As the world continues to change at a record pace more challenges are being presented that nobody has ever had to parent.  It can feel so scary to see our children exposed to things that influence them without  knowing exactly what impact it has in their minds.

Not only that, it seems like the connection to the internet is replacing human connection and we are slowly losing our family unit and the open dialogue that came with it.  It is no wonder that sometimes we parent from a place of fear or desperation because we want to protect our children from making big mistakes OR we want to give them opportunities and advantages that we never had.  While it comes from a place of love and we have the best intentions, we can't control how our kids think or choose their path for them.

YOU MAY BE FACING SOME OF THESE CHALLENGES RIGHT NOW:

  • You are concerned that your child is stressed out or unhappy with their life.

  • You are raising your children without a consistent parenting strategy.

  • You have a lot of stress and drama in your own life and it may be affecting your child.

  • You barely connect as a family anymore without distractions.

  • Your child(ren) push the right buttons at the wrong time and YOU REACT, which compounds the situation and weakens the bond in your relationship.

  • Your child spends more time face to screen than face to face, physically distancing themselves from family and friends.

  • You know they are on their electronics too much and you don't know exactly what they are seeing, but you aren't sure how to put fair controls or limits on it.

  • You know they are not performing to their highest potential and you resent that you have to nag them constantly to work harder.

  • You put a lot of pressure on them to get better grades because you want them to get into a good college.

  • You are seriously worried if they will succeed in this ultra competitive world.

  • You do a lot for them because you feel sorry for them, they are so busy and work so hard.

  • You find yourself advocating for them often with their teachers, athletic coaches and other parents.

  • You feel frustration or helplessness as you watch your child struggle at life.

  • You see how many children are suffering from anxiety and depression and you don't want your child to head down that path.

  • You noticed that they don't have close friends who they hang out with in person.

  • You are scared they may be heading down the wrong path with the wrong people.

  • You really aren't happy with the person they are becoming.

  • You have a child that needs special attention and it takes every ounce of your energy and patience.

  • You feel resentment towards them at times and you wonder if you will ever feel that special connection to them again.

  • You have invested a small fortune for tutors, lessons or even therapy, to no avail.

  • Your child has successfully completed therapy and you want to make sure they stay on a positive trajectory.

  • You spend more time worrying about them than caring for yourself and you are physically and emotionally exhausted.

  • Happiness, success and relationships within the whole family are suffering.
